Educational, trade, sporting and hobby groups and organisations showcased static and interactive displays.

There was a free sausage sizzle organised by the Emerald library staff and mask making supervised by Marist College students as well as a number of other fun activities for younger children.

Other exhibitors included TAFE, the Australian Agricultural College and community groups, with pottery, art and quilting to name a few.

CQU spokesperson Gai Sypher said the event was well supported by the community and exhibitors were satisfied with interest shown.

The Emerald Mayor - Cr Peter Maguire - opened the event and explained the benefits of lifelong learning, encouraging the community to get involved and join a club, an organisation or to commence study of some sort.
