Alternative Entry Evening held at CQU Mackay

Mackay community members attended the Alternative Entry Information evening held recently at CQU Mackay Campus.

Susan Collins, Admissions Officer, explained the processes for the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) and online applications for non-school leavers who are considering applying for the mid-year intakes to Central Queensland University programs.

PhotoID:1993 Olive Mallory, Coordinator First-Year Experience, discussed alternative entry options for potential students.

“There are several alternative pathways to university for mature-aged students. For example, CQU offers the STEPS program which helps students prepare for tertiary studies and is equivalent to receiving a Year 12 OP.

“Other entry pathways include the Women in Science & Technology preparatory program. We also assist students experiencing socio-economic disadvantage who show an aptitude or goal for tertiary studies,” Olive Mallory said.

QTAC is accepting mid-year enrolments until May 27. For further information, visit the website: http://www.qtac.edu.au .
