Southern Cross Soloists share skills with CQCM students

This year’s annual Southern Cross Soloists tour included an intensive workshop with Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music recently.
CQCM educator Ian Bofinger said the three-day program allowed the students to attend masterclasses, workshops and concerts.
“The Bachelor of Music/Performing Arts students really enjoyed the chance to work with a group of exceptionally talented musicians,” he said.
“The advantages of the students having access to industry professionals are immeasurable. The Southern Cross Soloists delivered an intensive class on the topic of studio teaching methodology as well as providing numerous performances and individual tuition.
On Sunday a high tea performance was held in the conservatorium foyer, with a Tuesday evening performance including two local ensembles.
The chamber music group continue their tour north along the Queensland coastline in the coming days.
