Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Con's Kirkman conducts chorale

Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music lecturer Kim Kirkman is the new conductor for Mackay's Young Chorale.

PhotoID:2698 Mackay's MidWeek newspaper reports that Mr Kirkman, who also conducts for the Mackay Choral Society, brings a wealth of experience to the role.

Mr Kirkman was music director for The Ten Tenors for six years and has conducted several choirs in London in the past.
