CQU graduate Alahna Ford was chosen as Mackay region's 'Young Manager of the Year' , during the recent AIM Management Excellence Awards.
The 24-year-old has expressed pride in winning the category sponsored by CQU Mackay.
Ms Ford attended Mirani High School and completed a business traineeship before completing a Bachelor of Business (HRM) with CQU by distance education, while juggling casual jobs.
She joined Mackay's Apprentice, Careers and Employment (ACE) organisation and impressed so much in her first 12 months that she now is now the manager, in charge of 21 employees.
Ms Ford will join other regional finalists at the State AIM (Australian Institute of Management) Awards in November.
