Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Rocky people welcome at X-Stacy show 

Rockhampton people have the chance to view a production called 'X-Stacy' which explores the rave scene and the dangers of drug-taking.

The Theatre in Education (TIE) production, written by Margery Forde, will be presented by drama students at Central Queensland University.

The public showing is from 7.30pm on Tuesday, August 26, at the Helene Jones Room at CQU Rockhampton. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door or bookings can be made via Naomi Jones on 4930 9130.

The production will also be staged in conjunction with a workshop for high school students, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (August 25-27).
