Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

International films featured at CQU Mackay Film Festival 

Films from Italy, France, the UK and the United States of America make up the selection of films being shown next week at the Central Queensland University.

PhotoID:357 CQU Mackay Library Manager Pauline McNee believed the range of films would attract a variety of viewers.

“The films may not necessarily be played at mainstream movie theatres, but they include Academy Award winning actors and directors,” she said.

‘Malena’, ‘Golden Bowl’, ‘Requiem for a Dream’, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘Amelie’, ‘Titus’ and ‘Iris’ are included in the line-up being screened from November 8-10.
