Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard hosted a VCE achievement celebration last week for the Division of Facilities Management grounds staff for their outstanding efforts in beautifying the Rockhampton campus lawns and gardens.

A barbecue lunch was held on the Chancellery lawns in recognition of the division's efforts.

In attendance were Clive Knight, Robert James, Aaron Jones, Greg Ahchay, Max Bundeson, Annemarie Ahern, Leigh Portch, Reg Bundarick, Rodwick Wells, David Nicholson and Trevor Hoffman.
