CQU performing arts graduate cast in 'Cats'

CQU Rockhampton performing arts graduate Jessica Havens has been cast in Ignations Theatre Company's (Brisbane) production of 'Cats', set to run in February and March next year.

PhotoID:3620 Ignations is the first Brisbane company and only the 3rd in Australia to get permission to do the famous show.

Jessica has been cast in the role of Rumpleteazer after an exhaustive audition process.

"It was quite competitive, but I kept focused and did exactly what I was taught at uni," Ms Havens commented.

"I had a flashback of 'Guys and Dolls' director Wayne Scott-Kermond talking about how it's all in the face ... that way they won't look at your feet ... I was against 5 others and how I performed was so different from all of them, and in the end they wanted me to fulfil this role.

PhotoID:3621 "I am very excited and can't wait to get back into my gymnastics and tumbling.

"I actually did really well in the dance audition ... all that dance training at Uni paid off. I can now call myself a dancer".
