Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Plant Sciences on display at Festival 

CQU Plant Sciences staff and students were ready to impress during the Festival of Innovation in Rockhampton last Thursday.

Ben Kele (below right) attended to spread the word on the range of Kele Effluent Wastewater Treatments, being promoted as KEWT.

Associate Professor Kerry Walsh from Plant Sciences also gave a presentation on 'the experiences gained in taking the NIR fruit sorting technology from the laboratory to commercial use in the packing house'.

A range of CQU staff members were involved in the third annual Festival of Innovation event organised by the Department of State Development and Innovation (and sponsored by CQU).
