Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Current and former staff members among health textbook contributors 

Current CQU nursing staff member Diane Goldsworthy and former staff member Dr Sansnee Jirojwong have both contributed to a new textbook, due out in October this year, on Population Health, Communities and Health Promotion.

Dr Jirojwong, now at University of Western Sydney, co-edited the publication and contributed to a number of chapters, while Ms Goldsworthy wrote a chapter entitled Emerging Population Health Issues and Health Promotion.

The book has been written for the needs of nursing, public health and allied health students. It includes case studies and examples from communities in developing and developed countries.
