CQU hosts Relay for Life-student and staff teams welcome

The Central Queensland leg of the world's most successful fundraising event - Relay for Life - will be held at CQU's athletics track on May 31-June 1 this year.

PhotoID:541 The Queensland Cancer Fund event involves teams of 10-15 people passing a baton around a running track for 18 hours, between 4pm one day and 10am the next.

Participants will camp in tents in the centre of the track, so they can rest when not cheering on their teammates.

The event features a party atmosphere and plenty of entertainment throughout the night.

Each team pledges to raise $1000 before the event, so the relay becomes a celebration of fundraising earlier in the year.

PhotoID:542 Teams are sought from centres including Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela and Emerald.

For details please call Bob Shewan at Queensland Cancer Fund on 4927 7088.
