Latest Be magazine out now

Who can stop the march of the toad? This is the question Be magazine asks in its latest edition out this week.

Be looks at the spread of the cane toad throughout northern Australia, how volunteer ‘toadbusters’ are helping to control the problem and how ‘mutant’ toads are giving a CQUni scientist an insight into the health of our waterways.

This edition also explores people’s Love of the Wild and how artist Peter Anderson uses the awesome splendour of the ocean as a catalyst for his artwork.

Be also looks at the appeal of crowd funding and how a Bundaberg initiative went viral; and it also explores the story behind a new film titled 3 Mile Limit where a CQUni graduate has landed a lead role.

The pros and cons of living on campus also feature, while we also read about some horror housemate stories.

Be asks our experts what they think of the upcoming Google Glass product, while Peter Reaburn asks us Why can’t we play by the rules?; and Ali Black talks about keeping our children’s screen time in check.

Distance education student Angela Kennedy tells us why she loves living in a small ‘outback’ town like Katherine in this edition’s Be My Guest feature; while we also learn how scholarships are making a difference to students.

I hope you enjoy our 17th edition of Be magazine as we celebrate our 5th year of publication.
