Celebrate Christmas in the gardens

The Central Queensland University Foundation Golden Years Program is presenting Xmas in the Gardens on Wednesday 4 December from 10 to 11.30am.

Golden Years Rockhampton Coordinator Glenys Kirkwood said the CQU Foundation was providing a unique opportunity for the Rockhampton public to enjoy the company of friends while listening to an exclusive performance by Dimitri Kopanakis from Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

PhotoID:527 Dimitri will entertain with a selection of well-known numbers, along with everyone’s favourite Christmas songs.

“People are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, a chair or rug and a group of their friends and sit back and relax in the Banyan area behind the Botanical Gardens Kiosk and get into the spirit of Christmas,” Mrs Kirkwood said.

There is no charge for this event and Christmas cake, tea, coffee and water will be supplied.

In the event of wet weather this function will move to the Helene Jones Auditorium, Building 5 at the CQU Rockhampton.

For bookings or for further information about this event please call Reaghan Bickey on 4923 2509 or just arrive on the day.

“The CQU Foundation Golden Years Program offers a variety of opportunities throughout the year for people who have the time and the inclination, to join with friends and enjoy activities provided by the University and the communities it serves.

"Musical occasions such as this one from the staff or the students at CQ Conservatorium are always one of the most popular events we hold,” Mrs Kirkwood said.
