World-renowed conductor and musical director Dr Kevin Purcell has been welcomed as the new Professor and Director of Music & Performing Arts at Central Queensland University.
As part of the welcome, classical music stars from overseas flew in for free concerts in Mackay and Rockhampton (November 1 and 2) and members of the public were invited to attend. About 85 people enjoyed the Mackay evening.
PVC and Executive Dean Professor Richard Smith welcomed Dr Purcell and his wife Janine Hanrahan to the University and community and introduced the visiting performers.
