Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

No fare for Fair buses from Rocky and Yeppoon 

There’ll be no fare for buses from Rockhampton and Yeppoon travelling to the CQ Multicultural Fair on Sunday, August 14.

A free Rothery’s bus service will do round trips to CQU from Allenstown Plaza, Kern Arcade, City Centre Plaza, opposite Northside Plaza and Stockland Rockhampton, starting at 9am and departing every 30 minutes. Return trips will start at 1.30pm and depart every 30 minutes until 4pm.

Meanwhile, a free Dowie’s bus service will leave the Yeppoon Railway Station at 9.30am on Sunday and leave the Fair at 4pm to return to the coast.

The Fair is being held in conjunction with the CQU Rockhampton Open Day.
