Sachin relishes peace-keeping role

Capricornia College residential assistant Sachin Benjamin is relishing his role ensuring students get the right mix of fun, socialising, sleep and study.

PhotoID:2502 The accounting student from Bangalore in India helps with liaison between students and staff and assists with the organisation of college events.

Sachin says it's easy to keep the right level of discipline and the right amount of quiet times, even though students have friends 'on tap' 24-hours a day.

In return for being an assistant, Sachin gets upgraded accommodation, reduced fees and the chance for favourable employment references. His assistance is welcome at busy times, particularly when students are arriving in large numbers for the start of term.

PhotoID:2503 Sachin is among 66 international students, 18 interstate students and 166 Queenslanders at the college. The residential population includes 5 sets of siblings.
