Lecturer 'rocks' according to students
Published on 12 June, 2008
Physics lecturer Bill Downey was recently presented with a trophy surrounded by rock samples and mounted on tiles.
The presentation was arranged by 22 students in appreciation of his lecturing of their Geological Science course.
"It was a fun accolade," Bill said. "It was unusual, but reflects appreciation for lectures in a subject that students find interesting and relevant in today's changing world, especially Queensland."
For any interested ‘rock hounds' out there - Bill will be hosting a geology workshop/guided walk at Double Head, near Rosslyn Bay Harbour this Sunday, June 15. For details call the EPA Rockhampton Office on 4936 0511.
