Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay's Big Night In set to be a 'theming' success 

The Big Night In scheduled for Mackay this Friday and Saturday (Oct 23-24) is set to be a 'theming success', with something for all tastes.

From radio-friendly Doris Day and Bobby Darrin tunes from the 1950s, to colour-themed songs of the 1960s and Queen's glam rock favourites from the 1970s, audience members are sure to go home happy.

The event also features performances by CQUniversity's jazz and popular music staff and students who are heading for a tour of the United States later in October.

The Big Night In will be held at 11am and 7.30pm on the Friday and at 7.30pm on the Saturday, at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) Theatre on Mackay Campus.
