Gladstone community members recently gathered at CQUniversity for a cocktail function (August 1) to celebrate 3 decades of higher education, the present campus resource and its future potential.

The event included awards for David Manttan and Tony Goodwin, in appreciation of their dedication, support and contribution to the Gladstone Advisory Committee over an extended period of time.

It's been 30 years since the then Capricornia Institute of Advanced Education (CIAE) established a campus in Gladstone, on a site in Dawson Road.

Friday's event celebrated the past as well as marking the institution's recent change of brand to become known as CQUniversity Australia.

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard attended the Gladstone function to explain how the brand makeover follows 2 years of significant administrative and functional overhauls at the University brought on by sector-wide changes in the demand for courses and programs.
