Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Teens set to 'connect' with Uni

High school students from throughout Central Queensland will visit CQU Rockhampton later this month (June 20-24) for a university experience.

The annual CQU Connections event will enable the visitors to stay at the Capricornia College and experience different aspects of campus life.

CQU first-year experience coordinator Olive Mallory said the teenagers would gain first-hand information about courses, career opportunities and tertiary study expectations.
