Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

AUQA audit needs students 

The Quality Office is seeking expressions of interest from students within the CQ region to participate in the forthcoming audit of CQU to provide feedback on teaching and learning outcomes and processes.

PhotoID:2241 The Australian University Quality Agency (AUQA) audit is scheduled for October, and will involve face-to-face sessions with external auditors, who are assessing the quality of CQU facilities, programs and student experience.

The students will be required to attend two sessions. One is a briefing session (to be conducted by the Quality Office) of approximately one hour during the week of October 3-7. The second session will be to attend a luncheon with the audit panel of approximately 1= to 2 hours during the week October 18-21. There will be no costs to the attending students.

As an incentive, students that attend both sessions will go in the draw for an open voucher at Harvey Norman’s for $400 (terms and conditions apply).
