From 'RockVegas' to New York - Uni performer aims high

CQU Rockhampton performing arts student Jenna Saini is grabbing opportunity with both hands, thanks to an exchange program with University at Buffalo (UB) The State University of New York.

The second-year student, originally from Lismore (NSW) where she attended Trinity Catholic College, arranged the exchange with the help of Lavenia James and Dr Emma Killion from CQU.

She'll end up with a term of credit towards her Australian degree and hopefully lots of experience and contacts in New York, where she will live between August and December this year.

Ms Saini said she had to submit her grades and course profile but otherwise it was relatively easy to arrange the exchange.

She said she originally came to Rockhampton in 2006, specifically because of the broad experience available through the Bachelor of Performing Arts degree, since she is a singer and guitarist who is also thriving in dance and drama classes.
