More than 50 current postgraduate coursework and research students and staff attended the Postgraduate Networking Evening held by the Faculty of Informatics & Communication in Rockhampton last week.
Guest speakers included School of Information Systems lecturer Louise Hawkins, Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning) Elizabeth Tansley and Margaret Rogers (who recently completed her PhD).
They spoke of their student journey, their transition to the workforce, their achievements and where they see their future.
Associate Professor in Information Systems and Director of INFOCOM Graduate Programs Greg Whymark said students were enthusiastic about networking with other students and staff and took the opportunity to ask some hard questions.
“The night was very successful and we look forward to doing it again,” he said.
