World real estate award success draws on PhD research

Midell Developments, the company behind the Sunrise at 1770 project, has gained a first runner-up placing in the international FIABCI Prix d'Excellence Awards* for real estate developments.

This follows the company's finalist status in the 2008 United Nations Association of Australia World Environment Day Awards and its status as the Best Sustainable Development in Australia 2008 (judged by the Urban Development Institute of Australia).

A common factor to the success has been the innovative systems installed by Midell Water Solutions Pty Ltd, which was formed from the intellectual property from a PhD study by CQUniversity's Ben Kele.

Mr Kele is proud that CQUniversity was able to play a part in the Sunrise development's success, thanks to its input into and support for the wastewater facilities.

* The FIABCI Awards cover a network of more than 50 countries and over 110 professional organisations worldwide.
