Noosa Hub nursing graduate now a midwifery prize winner

CQU Noosa Hub nursing graduate Sandra Lee has gone on to win an Australian College of Midwifery Prize for her postgraduate studies with the Australian Catholic University.

The Australian College of Midwives Prize is awarded to the graduating student who demonstrates commitment (in both the academic and clinical setting) to promoting safe and effective midwifery care, advocating to protect the rights of women, families and communities and using research to inform midwifery practice.

Ms Lee, now based at Caboolture Hospital, has contacted her former lecturers at Noosa Hub to share her delight, commenting that the award was "not bad for an ex-bankie who only pursued nursing and university life 4 short years ago at the tender age of 32, with a young daughter".

"I am ecstatic that I have been recognised from a group of midwifery students who have emergency, intensive care, cardiac and neurosurgery training, and on average over 10 years of nursing experience and knowledge," she said.
