CQU doctoral candidate Molly Yang gained a senior academic 'buddy' while attending a doctoral colloquium held in the lead-up to this week's Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference (ANZMAC) in Brisbane.
She was among PhD students from Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Thailand, Vietnam and Germany who had the chance to become temporary buddies of veteran marketing professionals and researchers.
Ms Yang presented a summary of her research during a roundtable session and had the chance to buddy with Professor Mike Ewing from Monash University.
The CQU student would recommend any candidates from CQU go to future colloquiums of this type.
“It has provided the opportunity for doctoral students to discuss their work-in-progress with leading scholars from the region and overseas, and share their research with peers," Ms Yang said.
"We have also seen the full presentation of those who are close to the end of their thesis".
Ms Yang's Doctor of Business research is examining 'Why Chinese Students come to Regional Universities in Australia'.
