Published on 13 November, 2003
Recently-retired Ken Appleton, now an adjunct Associate Professor with the Faculty of Education & Creative Arts, will receive an award at the next Association for the Education of Teachers in Science (AETS) annual meeting in Nashville, from January 7-11 next year.
It will be the first time the award has been presented to someone outside the USA and Canada.
The AETS has notified Dr Appleton he will receive an Honorary Emertius Award. He will receive a plaque and a tribute in the Awards Issue of the Journal of Science Teacher Education.
According to the association, election as an Honorary Emeritus Member is the highest recognition as it has the power to confer.
The AETS serves educators involved in the professional development of teachers of science.
