The safety of students, staff and visitors has been boosted with the establishment of a more visible headquarters for campus security personnel.

The 24-7 security presence now operates from a more accessible building (3), right beside the main road through campus.

Security staff are better able to monitor the flow of traffic through the campus, while still having access to video surveillance equipment.

As well as monitoring the Rockhampton Campus and Capricornia Residential College, campus security also manage CCTV coverage of regional campuses, and maintain instant communication protocols with the fire safety and emergency organisations in Rockhampton.

Building 3 is now the central collection point for new and replacement keys and access cards, between 8am and 10am Monday to Friday.

New signage and an emergency call button has been fitted to make the building a one-stop-shop for security.
