Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Quality practice database updated

The Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) has announced there are now nearly 50 entries in the good practice database.

All entries can be visited, at no charge, at www.auqa.edu.au/gp .

The AUQA Good Practice Database was developed as a benchmarking resource for higher education organisations seeking good practices to adapt and adopt.

The latest entries cover topics such as development of students' academic literacy skills, electronic libraries, implementation and integration of IT systems, Indigenous education, industry scholarship schemes, outreach programs for science students, and teaching quality appraisal.
