CQUniversity best for outcomes - independent report

CQUniversity is the best choice for students seeking study success and employment outcomes, according to an independent report.

The University is the only one in Australia to achieve 5-star ratings in the 2009 Good Universities Guide for both Graduate Starting Salaries (the only public university in Queensland to do so) and student Access.

The editors of the Guide, Australia's only Degree and University Ratings, have also awarded CQUniversity 4 or 5 star ratings - the highest outcomes possible - for Positive Graduate Outcomes for the last nine years and, since 2000, Guide researchers have given us the highest rating among all public universities in Queensland for Graduate Starting Salaries.

In addition, the editors say that CQUniversity is "always developing new ways to ensure its students achieve their individual goals - no matter where or how they study or what path they followed to reach university."

According to the Guide's Special Report on CQUniversity "few universities can say that they can interact in a customised way to a student's requirements. CQUniversity can."

A key attraction for our students is flexible access, with 6 campuses and delivery sites stretching from Mackay to Noosa and west to Emerald. In addition, students have the option of choosing on-campus or distance education study, or a mix of both.

Once they arrive, students have access to plenty of support, including the mentor program, counselling and advisory services, academic coaching, careers guidance and the student association.

There's also financial help available via a range of scholarships, prizes, grants, loans and budgeting advice.

Students can benefit from many programs that feature Integrated Workplace Learning, so they get real experience outside the classroom before graduating. There's even an option to apply for a sponsored exchange with an overseas institution, with credit for your degree.

Our students are able to learn from some of the best teachers in Australia, as CQUniversity has received numerous prestigious national teaching awards.

CQUniversity undergraduate programs are available in the areas of built environment and design, business, creative and performing arts, education, engineering and technology, health and recreation, humanities and social sciences, information technology, primary industries and environment and sciences.

At a time when the University has been rolling out its new brand, it is more than ever focused on keeping pace with student expectations about time, communications, service and quality.

"We are a youthful and unconventional university - closely linked to our communities, enthusiastic about lifelong learning and focused on the success of individual students and stakeholders," Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard stated recently.

"We provide products, services and academic and personal support that instills confidence and imparts knowledge, giving you the skills and freedom you need to be who you want to be, no matter who you are, where you're from or how you choose to study with us."

CQUniversity also excels at preparing people for University. Our SUN (Start Uni Now) program helps students in Years 10-12 undertake individual courses to experience tertiary study and focus on particular areas of interest. Meanwhile, we have a range of alternative pathways for prepare adult learners for a return to study.
