Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Registrations open for sport development 

CQU's School of Health and Human Performance is conducting a Sport Development Series.

Athletes, coaches, conditioners and trainers are all welcome to attend the series, which will consist of 2 x 1-day workshops.

Participants can learn the latest training techniques to improve performance.

They can discover the latest information on performance fields such as nutrition, fitness and testing procedures. They can be prepared to face the challenges of a new season.

Workshop 1, taking place on Saturday, February 4, will cover pre-season testing and fitness.

Workshop 2, taking place on Saturday, February 18, will cover in-season training and injury management and recovery.

The series will be held at CQU Rockhampton and will be presented by qualified professionals in the area of human performance.
