Karthick Shiva Krishna Lakshmanaswamy started a full-time position as a systems analyst with Data Audit Systems in Brisbane in October 2006, after completing a Masters of Information Technology at CQU Gold Coast.

Karthick is originally from India and had completed a Bachelor in Applied Science at B.I.T Sathyamangalam and a Masters in International Business at P.S.G.I.M Coimbatore before making the biggest decision in his life—to study in Australia.

After careful research he chose the CQU Campus at the Gold Coast for its multicultural environment and the professional work culture of the staff.

He also loved the beaches of the Gold Coast and the opportunity to indulge his passion for driving.

While studying he enjoyed the friendliness and convenience of a small campus. He was impressed by the excellent service provided by the staff; “they made time to pay attention to each and every student’s needs and navigate them to their destiny".

Karthick completed 2 Masters degrees at CQU, a Masters of Information Systems in 2005 and the Masters of Information Technology in 2006.

During his second degree a fellow graduate of CQU suggested he contact Data Audit Systems, a company that analyses traffic data for the Queensland Government.

They were suitably impressed and he was offered part-time work immediately.

This part-time job led to his current full-time position and he stresses that gaining industry experience while studying can be a valuable entree to employment.

What he enjoys about his work is the challenge of working with new data and new techniques for analysing data to meet different client needs.

He is constantly learning and the experience will help his future goal of starting a business offering business process outsourcing.
