CQU Foundation team builds bridges in Bundaberg

It might have been April Fools Day, but there was no fooling around at the recent breakfast meeting held by the Bundaberg Business Women Network.
CQU Foundation Executive Director Anne Gribbin, CQU Bundaberg Foundation Coordinator Deirdre Fagan-Pagliano and local community liaison officer Nina Higgins spoke to the women on the role the CQU Foundation plays in the community.
“The breakfast meeting was a great opportunity for us to promote the work the Foundation is currently doing, and highlight plans for the Bundaberg campus,” Ms Gribbin said.
“It is really important to be out meeting people within the community to ensure we are meeting the objectives of The Foundation.
“It is only by hearing their feedback we can be sure that we are indeed responding to their needs, renewing our contacts and of course replenishing friendships already established. By doing so we will ensure The Foundation is relevant to the lives of those within and outside the University community.
At Bundaberg plans are underway for a series of public lectures, an event to show case local iconic products and a film festival.
CQU Bundaberg Coordinator Deirdre Fagan-Pagliano said these events were in response to local issues.
“One thing coming through is the desire by the local community to hear more about the research at CQU Bundaberg, more public lectures and access to the University for information and events,” Ms Fagan-Pagliano said.
