On Saturday, May 8, a Relay for Life team will conduct a Small Business Tax Seminar fundraiser at CQU Rockhampton.

The seminar will focus on the current requirements and expectations of small business and its compliance in the event of an audit relative to the GST Law, Taxation Law, Personal Services Legislation, Workcover requirements (since changes to the definition of worker were implemented in December 2002) and the current requirements of Centrelink in fulfilling obligations when receiving pensions.

Kennas will provide an overview of what small business should be prepared for when the auditors \"knock on the door\".

The Australian Taxation Office has provided three senior staff whose areas of expertise is in GST Audit, Taxation Audits and Personal Services compliance.

Workcover will provide a senior manger to cover the area of audit relative to Workcover policy requirements.

A senior manager from Centrelink will cover the area of compliance and pension payments.

A partner from Kennas will highlight the requirements of record keeping and what you should expect when the auditor arrives.

Cost of attendance at this day seminar is a $50 donation to the Queensland Cancer Fund Relay for Life event (due to be held at CQU athletics track on May 15-16).
