Nurses from the Mackay region gathered at CQUniversity this week (May 12) to celebrate International Nurses Day, with the Mackay campus hosting a special function.
The festivities kicked off with a videoconferenced presentation from Dr Christine Hallett, Director of the UK Centre for the History of Nursing and Midwifery from the University of Manchester. Christine discussed her recent book Containing Trauma: Nursing Work in the First World War.
Festivities continued into the afternoon with the annual bed-making competition between the Good Shepherd Lodge and CQUniversity nursing lecturers and students. The afternoon also featured guest speakers and afternoon tea.
