Minister to launch CQU Press Travellers' Tales

Education and Arts Minister Rod Welford will conduct the Australian book launch of 'Travellers' Tales - Best Stories Under the Sun Vol 2', a national short story anthology edited by Michael Wilding and David Myers.

PhotoID:2593 The CQU Press title will be launched in the Red Room on Parliament House in Brisbane from 5.15pm on Friday, November 11.

According to the book's review, 33 gifted writers, including winners of the Australian Vogel and Age Book of the Year prizes, combine their talents to evoke the crazy challenges of exotic travel.

"Through their travels they help us to escape from the cage of our humdrum daily routine and to encounter the shock of the unexpected and the other.

"They teach us to travel with hope, or if you’re short on hope, then at least with humour and irony. In this national anthology, established names elbow for precious space with young up and coming writers," the review says.

Details are available via Professor David Myers on 07 5552 4960 or d.myers@cqu.edu.au .
