The bursary was presented to Patsy in front of her peers on-campus by QCWA division treasurer Cynthia Daniels.

To be eligible for the bursary, applicants are required to have a permanent address in the Central Highlands; to be in their second year of university; and to be studying at CQU.

QCWA divisional president Val Beak told the 'Central Queensland News' in Emerald that Mrs Ritchings was selected because she works hard and gets excellent results.

“All of the testimonial letters we received on her behalf commented on how dedicated she is to anything she puts her mind to.”.
