CQU supports launch of Disability Action Week
Published on 22 July, 2004
An official launch for Disability Action Week was held in the Community Sports Centre at CQU Rockhampton on Monday, thanks to University sponsorship.
CQU, through the Equity and Diversity Office and the Regional Disability Liaison Officer initiative, has been active in the planning and conduct of Action Week activities for several years.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Glenice Hancock was involved in the launch, which included signing choirs, a sausage sizzle, a cake-cutting ceremony, a Darumbal welcome and an opening by the Mayor.
The sports centre later hosted a wheelchair basketball corporate challenge.
The week continued with a Better Living Expo and a Low Impact Fun Exercise session.
