Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

British Consul-General visits Rail centre 

The British Consul-General Ms Helen Horn visited the Centre for Railway Engineering (CRE) based at CQU Rockhampton last week.

PhotoID:2152 Ms Horn met Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Jim Mienczakowski and CRE staff before touring the Centre and Hi-Lab.

CRE’s Professor Peter Wolfs said he discussed with Ms Horn the importance of railways to the mining industry and the many features of Australia's railway network which are similar to that in the UK, including electrification designs.
