CQUniversity's Term 1 2009 offers made

With the release of QTAC offers today (Thursday 15 January), CQUniversity reports 1976 offers have been made to date for Term 1 2009. 72% of those offers have been made to mature age learners, 28% to Year 12 school leavers.

In addition CQUniversity has made approximately 200 additional direct offers for university places to graduates of its access programs, such as STEPS and WIST. Therefore in total, more than 2100 offers have been made for Term 1 2009.

Some of the most popular programs this year, overall, are Nursing - especially among Distance Learners, Construction Management, Building Design and Surveying & Certification, Human Movement Science, Social Work, Property and Occupational Health & Safety.

PhotoID:6706Education or Learning Management programs remain popular choices among school leavers, as are Engineering, Nursing, Human Movement Science, Biomedical Science, Psychology and Building Design programs.

The majority of applications and offers have been received from and made to Central Queenslanders.

"Anyone who did not get the offer they were expecting should call us and discuss their individual case. There's another QTAC round in February plus alternative pathways to CQUniversity which may suit them better," explained spokesperson Mike Donahue.

"People receiving offers today from more than one university should consider what's in their best long-term interest and make a decision in consultation with their family and peers," offered Donahue.

"But they should know that they can always change programs and universities down the line should their interests or needs change."

The period for enrolment for Term 1 remains open through the end of February for most programs, so there is still plenty of time to apply and enrol in the program of your choice. Call 13 CQUNI (13 2786) for more information.

CQUniversity enrols new students three times a year for Terms 1 (March), 2 (July) and 3 (November) and has an annual intake of three to four-thousand students.
