Queensland Senator Barnaby Joyce and Nationals candidate for Flynn Glenn Churchill visited CQU Gladstone on Monday as part of Senator Joyce’s visit to the Gladstone region.
Mr Churchill, a former CQU Council member and graduate, invited Senator Joyce to visit the campus to get an understanding of the education and research facilities available in the region.
During the visit, Senator Joyce met with Head of Campus Pierre Viljoen, discussing the history of the campus and Pierre’s view of the future development of CQU Gladstone.
“Senator Joyce was interested in the strategic plan of the campus and was especially interested in the work done in the CEM and the PELM,” Dr Viljoen said.
Senator Joyce visited the Cyril Golding Library, the Leo Zussino Building, the Centre for Environmental Management and the Process Engineering and Light Metals (PELM) Centre and also met with campus staff.
