Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU Connections visitors get taste of marketing 

CQU Marketing lecturers Jim Callan and Meredith Parrish ran a session encouraging high school students to engage in team work and gain a basic understanding of marketing as part of the CQU Connections program recently.

PhotoID:3117 The students were given an unlimited budget to promote their school formal and to secure their favourite band to perform. They were required to develop a promotional presentation to present to their group.

This session was part of CQU Connections, a week-long program designed to encourage students from under-represented socio-economic backgrounds to include university study as a viable option in their future.
