CQU Connections visitors get taste of marketing
Published on 28 June, 2006
CQU Marketing lecturers Jim Callan and Meredith Parrish ran a session encouraging high school students to engage in team work and gain a basic understanding of marketing as part of the CQU Connections program recently.
The students were given an unlimited budget to promote their school formal and to secure their favourite band to perform. They were required to develop a promotional presentation to present to their group.
This session was part of CQU Connections, a week-long program designed to encourage students from under-represented socio-economic backgrounds to include university study as a viable option in their future.
The high school students were from Rockhampton and as far as Blackall, Clermont, Mackay, Bundaberg, Rosedale, Yeppoon and Monto.
