Bowden to share union fate with CQ

Visiting academic Associate Professor Bradley Bowden will present a seminar on the rise and fall of Australian unionism next week at CQUniversity.

The Griffith Business School academic's presentation will be held in Rockhampton on Wednesday September 29 from 1 to 2pm. It will also be video-conferenced to Gladstone, Mackay, Bundaberg and Noosa.

Professor Bowden will argue that the Australian unionism faces a tough job in rebuilding support and that recovery in union strength is unlikely.

He will discuss the factors that unions have faced since the 1820s, both contributing to the rise and fall in membership.
