CQUniversity graduates find well paid jobs fast

CQUniversity's bachelor degree graduates* are more likely to gain full-time employment within 4 months of completing their degrees, according to the 2008 Australian Graduate Survey (AGS).

AGS results show that CQUniversity had an overall employment rate of 91.9% compared to the national average of 85.2%.

PhotoID:6707The University also topped the employment rates in all study categories available for comparison, achieving particularly well in Social Work, Engineering and Nursing where 100% of graduates were in full-time work within 4 months of graduating.

The survey also showed that only 2% of recent graduates surveyed were unemployed with 6.1% working part-time or casual while seeking full-time work.

Recent statistics from the 2008 AGS also revealed CQUniversity's bachelor degree graduates are some of the best paid in the country.

"This shows our graduates are qualified, ready-to-work and in strong demand. And they're being rewarded with higher than average starting salaries too," said spokesperson Mike Donahue.

CQUniversity graduates are earning a median annual starting salary of $45,000 compared to the national median salary of $44,000.

Graduates from Building and Engineering degrees are doing particularly well, earning $22,500 more than the national median in Building and $10,000 more in Engineering.

In fact, CQUniversity's graduates led the way in all but one of the fields available for salary comparison, with big advantages also seen in Business Studies, Accounting, Health and Life Sciences.
