Adding the 'FIN' to Rocky's own Sharkmen feature film
Published on 14 October, 2010
The Sharkmen feature film shot around Rockhampton is in the final stages of post-production and director Jason Gibson hopes he can attract a final slice of funding to complete the sound levels and premiere the movie locally.
The Bachelor of Business graduate gained $30,000 from CQUniversity's arts funding pool to kick off his movie project and it's already opening doors for him.
However, Jason stresses that to get the movie fully completed and out into the "wider world" he needs some funding assistance to buy time in a professional sound editing studio. Anyone who can help can contact him via jason@thegibsonstyle.com .

"I was personally invited by the Director of Photography from Desperate Housewives to work and shadow him on set after he saw my work on Sharkmen. I went over and worked at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, shadowing and being mentored by him in professional movie making," Jason said.
"I finished a cut of Sharkmen, and entered it into the 2010 Gold Coast Film Festival. However, due to parts of the movie's sound design needing re-recordings the sound was not at screening level for an audience to view it.
"The Festival directors were so impressed with the movie, and how I completely did it all myself that they set up meetings for me with key industry executives, including the CEO of Bonsai Films and Chris Adams, the executive producer for Syriana, Good Night and Good Luck and An Inconvenient Truth.
"I was told to have my Sharkmen teasers ready and to be ready with the pitch for Sharkmen 2, which could be planned and shot around Rockhampton as the sequel, however with a larger budget."
