CQUniversity's workcover premium has been trending downwards over the past three years and has reached a level below the benchmarked rate across the sector.

Health, Safety, Environmental & Training Unit Manager Narelle Stubbins praised staff for working safely and following safer work practices.

She said the lower rate was also evidence of CQUniversity's effective rehabilitation programs.

"While we are all aware of the work that needs to be addressed I would l like to acknowledge the continuing improvement," Ms Stubbins said.
