Sydney trio recognised for campus leadership

Three students have been recognised with Campus Director's Awards for Leadership at CQUniversity Sydney International Campus.

The Campus Director's Award for Leadership not only acknowledges exceptional academic achievement, but also identifies students who have contributed to the community, in a capacity to act as mentors or role models for future students.

These recipients have illustrated an ability to respond to challenges and have shown commitment to the value of cultural diversity.

Two postgraduate students bestowed with this honour are Charanjit Kaur and Farhana Islam. The undergraduate representative receiving this award is Pascal Lachance.

All 3 SIC students share outstanding academic results and the ability and commitment to help others.

Charanjit Kaur (pictured right among trio) has graduated with a Master of Information Technology. In recognition of her achievement she has been on the SIC honour board twice! She believes that her experience at CQU allowed her to gain both practical and theoretical knowledge needed to help her reach where she is now.

Farhana Islam (pictured left among trio) graduated with a Master of Information Technology. Managing studies, part-time work and household duties is a difficult task for any student let alone an international student settling in to a totally new country and culture. But for Farhana this was a challenge worth conquering. And the results speak for themselves. As a result of her outstanding performance, Farhana has been placed on the SIC honour board for all 3 terms in 2007.

Pascal Lachance (pictured centre among trio) graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology. His love for IT is evident in his excellent results. Apart from IT, Pascal enjoys learning about different cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds. He states that he found "the CQU experience was very rewarding".  Pascal loves a challenge and also loves to help other students who are facing challenges. His upbeat and positive attitude is a strong feature which he uses to motivate others.

Congratulations to the 3 recipients of the Campus Director's Award for Leadership. We would like to wish them the very best in their future endeavours.
