Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Meet, Greet and Share Study Skills 

CQU\'s Faculty of Informatics & Communication is trialing a study skills and socialisation program for its first-year students on the Rockhampton Campus.

The sessions will also allow students to network with fellow students, mentors, faculty and support staff while enjoying free food and drinks.

New students will be able to attend the weekly sessions over the next six weeks. Each session goes for two hours. The session are held weeks 1- 7, though there will be no session during week 3 due to the Easter break.
