In recent years, the event has raised more than $200,000 and almost $43,000 has been banked already this year by the 96 teams already registered.

Relay for Life raises funds for The Cancer Council Queensland and more than 50 cancer survivors have already registered to take part, although more are welcome.

Organisers are still keen to hear from new teams or people keen to join an existing team for the Relay.

Relay For Life is open to everyone. It's a festive yet moving event where teams keep a baton moving overnight.

Teams of 10 or more come together from businesses, schools, community groups, friends and families to share this unique experience.

Organisers are also keen to involve cancer survivors in the Survivors Walk and other aspects of the weekend.
